During the American Civil Warsexual behavior and attitudeslike many other aspects of life, were affected by the conflict. The advent of photography and easier media distribution, for example, allowed for greater access to sexual material for the common soldier. At camp, " barracks favorites " were available. Naked photos of female US marines shared on secret Facebook group prompts NCIS investigation
On one side of the debate are those that say the current laws have kept Japan out of armed conflicts following the horrors of World War II, and on the other are those that argue the acting provisions are no longer suitable in light of terrorist activity and the growing military power of nearby China and North Korea. Shigeaki Iijima, a professor of constitutional law and peace studies at Nagoya Gakuin University, seems to hold a dim view of amending Article 9. Hundreds of Marines investigated for sharing photos of naked colleagues
The practice of entering combat without the use of clothing and armor is rare; apart from the social aspects of nuditythe combatant lacks even the basic protection of clothes, for instance when diving for cover or crawling. The artistic convention of heroic nudityhowever, was established in the art of ancient Greece by the Archaic period. Polybius' Histories describe how the Gaesataehired by other Celtic peoples, the Boii and Insubres as mercenaries to fight the Romans, stood naked at the head of their army at the Battle of Telamon in BC.
The US Defense Department has launched an investigation on reports that some Marines shared naked photographs of their female counterparts on a secret Facebook group page. Along with identified female military members were photographs of unidentifiable women in various stages of undress, and included obscene comments about some of the women, officials said. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is now investigating.
