Breastfeeding With CF
Women with cystic fibrosis can safely breastfeed without compromising their baby's health. However, there are still factors related to your own health that you will need to consider before you decide whether breastfeeding is right for you. As a new mother, one of the first decisions you will need to make is whether you will breastfeed. Although early studies suggested that the breastmilk from mothers with cystic fibrosis had higher-than-normal levels of sodium, subsequent research has confirmed that women with CF can safely breastfeed their babies and provide them with the appropriate amounts of protein and sodium.
Hi, I've been reading your blog and I really enjoy hearing about your family and how you live with a large family, including two with cystic fibrosis. My youngest child also has cystic fibrosis and is breastfed. I believe this is a huge contributing factor in how well he's doing.
